AI Doesn’t Need More Tools. It Needs Somewhere to Work.

AI has gotten very good at talking about work. It can draft the email, summarize the thread, suggest the next step, and even tell you what to do next.
Then it stops. You copy the draft. Open another tab. Update the record. Find a time on your calendar. Send the follow-up. The AI helped you think through the work.
You still had to do the work.

The problem isn’t intelligence

It’s easy to assume the answer is a smarter assistant. We don’t think that’s the problem. Most AI today lives beside your software instead of inside it. It can see what you give it, but it doesn’t have the full context of what is happening across your work, and it usually can’t do much with that context. So even when AI knows what should happen next, you become the connection between everything.

Take something as ordinary as setting up a client meeting.
Reply to the email.
Find a time that works.
Update the contact.
Send a follow-up.
None of these tasks are particularly difficult. But they happen across different tools, which means someone has to move the context from one place to another. That someone is usually you. And that’s the part we think software should be able to handle.

AI needs somewhere to work

If AI is going to move from answering questions to actually doing things, it needs more than intelligence.

It needs context.
It needs access.
It needs permissions.
And it needs somewhere to act.

That’s why we’re building Workpeg as a cloud OS for work. A layer where your work software can exist together, share context, and give AI somewhere to actually do the work.

Think of it like an operating system

Your computer’s operating system gives applications a common environment to run in. Workpeg takes a similar idea and applies it to work. Instead of every work app operating as its own island, they can work within the same environment.

How Workpeg Comes Together

  • Pegs: Pegs are the apps that make up the Workpeg ecosystem. Each Peg is designed to handle a specific part of your work, from email and calendar to storage and beyond. They work within the Workpeg environment, allowing them to share information and work together rather than operate in isolation.
  • Fabric: Fabric is Workpeg’s shared memory layer. It connects the context and information across different Pegs, giving our AI a broader understanding of what’s happening across your work. This means our AI doesn’t have to treat every app or interaction as a separate experience. It can draw on relevant context from your email, calendar, contacts, and other Pegs to make better decisions and carry out tasks with more understanding. All of this happens within a layer designed with privacy, security, and data control in mind.
  • AI Core: AI Core powers the intelligence behind Workpeg. It works across different Pegs, using the shared context from Fabric to understand what needs to be done and take action, rather than simply recommend the next step.

That’s the shift we’re interested in: From AI that tells you what to do to AI that can actually do it.

Giving AI the right access

For our AI to do more than make suggestions, it needs access to the tools and information required to get work done. But that access needs to be carefully managed. Workpeg is built with security and control in mind. Features like tenant isolation, role-based permissions, and audit logging help ensure that access is properly managed and every action can be traced. The goal is to make AI capable of doing meaningful work without compromising the security, privacy, or control of the people using it.

Built for more than what we can create ourselves

We believe Workpeg should grow beyond the tools we build ourselves. That’s why we’re opening it up to developers. Through the Workpeg SDK, developers can create their own Pegs, build solutions for specific needs, and make them available to other users across the Workpeg ecosystem. This means Workpeg isn’t limited to what our team can imagine or develop. As more developers build on the platform, more tools, ideas, and possibilities become available to everyone.

We’re just getting started

Workpeg is still evolving, and there’s a lot more we want to build. But the idea behind it is simple: your work tools should be able to work together, share relevant context, and make it easier to get things done.

Your calendar, email, contacts, and other work apps shouldn’t operate as separate islands, each with only a small piece of the picture. And our AI shouldn’t have to start from scratch every time it needs to help you with something. We’re building Workpeg around a different way of working, where the tools you use can communicate, understand more of your work, and take action within the same environment.

Because software should do more than help you manage work. It should help you move it forward. That’s the future we’re working towards with Workpeg.
